Co-Response Teams

Co-Response Teams

City implementation partners: Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York City Police Department

Co-Response Teams (CRT) are a collaboration between the NYPD and DOHMH. CRT is a pre- and post-crisis intervention. Each team includes two police officers and one behavioral health professional. These teams work 16 hours per day, 7 days per week, to serve community members with mental health or substance use challenges who are at an elevated risk of harm to themselves or others. The teams offer short-term engagement to facilitate connections to care and linkages to support services
