Pathways to Wellbeing
Pathways to Wellbeing is a partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health, the Department of Youth and Community Development, and Penguin Random House, to promote mental health for children, youth and families who visit the 99 Cornerstone Community Centers at NYCHA locations across New York City.
Learn more about the Cornerstone Program.
Cornerstone youth programs are designed to provide engaging, high-quality youth services in partnership with NYCHA and a strong network of nonprofit providers across the City. By bringing free youth and workplace mental health training to all Cornerstone center staff and books about mental health to select Cornerstone locations, we are building community-based pathways to mental health support for children and young adults. Cornerstone centers also receive public education materials that contain information about citywide mental health services and encourage connection to support.
Join us to learn, reflect, and find mental health support in your community.
Through Pathways to Wellbeing, Cornerstone staff have been trained to support young New Yorkers who are experiencing mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression and trauma and help connect youth and their families to mental health support. Cornerstone staff are also trained on burnout and vicarious trauma through Thrive in Your Workplace.
If you work with youth, we invite you to explore mental health with Cornerstone staff, and learn about how you can promote mental health in your community by watching one of our trainings:
Addressing Workplace Mental Health and Burnout
Addressing Workplace Mental Health and Burnout will define burnout, provide descriptions of the six common causes of burnout, and discuss strategies to prevent and mitigate burnout.
Understanding Trauma and Vicarious Trauma
Understanding Trauma and Vicarious Trauma will provide an overview of vicarious trauma, including individual symptoms and their effect on the workplace, and how employers can use organizational strategies to create a vicarious trauma-informed workplace to support employees who work with victims of trauma.
